Tessera

A year goes by, and you cannot remember what it was like

Tessera is a diary that takes a minute in the evening. Eight ratings of your own state, habit marks, where the day went and a couple of lines in words. A month later that minute adds up to what memory does not keep: when you felt good and what came before it.

How it looks

Three screens where the app spends almost all its time.

Not the ratings, but the links between them.

What is inside

Nothing that has to be maintained. The app asks, you answer, and the day is done.

A minute in the evening

Fourteen short steps: eight feelings on a scale, sleep, habits, time by category and a note. Not a single required field — you can go half way and save.

Weekly, monthly and yearly reports

They appear on their own at the end of a period. They show not the ratings but the links: how sleep falls on mood, what changes when a habit holds, where the time actually goes.

Habits without pressure

A weekly goal is a guide, not an obligation. A missed day resets nothing and tells you off about nothing: an empty checkbox exists precisely so that later you can see how it really went.

Words, voice and pictures

What did not fit into numbers — as a line, a voice note or a photo of the day. Six months later this is the most interesting part to read.

Rewards that do not hurry you

They are given for what is already done, not for what must be managed in time. No streaks that “burn out” and no reproachful reminders.

Four appearance sets

Light and dark themes, four colour sets, a living background. An app you open every evening should be pleasant to look at.

Full version

A one-time purchase, with no subscription and no renewals. Everything written before it stays where it was; the diary, habits, reports and statistics are free and will remain so.

What affects you

Report insights: links between habits, sleep, categories and mood — the things a single day does not show.

A copy in the cloud

Encrypted on your phone. The diary will not be lost together with the phone, and we cannot read the copy either.

Voice, pictures and the rest

Voice notes and photos in a day, unlimited habits, your own categories, a lock on the app, appearance sets.

Entries stay on your phone

The diary lives in the phone’s memory and goes nowhere by itself. The app asks for no email, no sign-up and no phone number: we do not know who you are and keep no account for you.

A copy can be made as a file and put wherever you see fit. The full version adds a copy in the cloud — you switch it on, and only if you want to.

The cloud copy is encrypted on the phone, before sending. What travels to the server is a bag of bytes; the key stays with you and does not reach us. We cannot read your copy — that is how the system is built, not a promise on our part.
